Incorporating Games Into Lesson Plans To Impact Student Learning: Lorrie Foley & Bill Justice
Lorrie Foley
AKA ""Incredible Nature Girl""
Lorrie Foley is leading the way in Nebraska, as the top user in all of Omaha Public Schools! She loves using Legends of Learning to get all of her students on the same level: “I can use some games as review for grades before mine as well as content we have learned in class. Doing this keeps all the learning fresh in their minds”.
When she uses Legends in her classroom, her students are always “all engaged in learning”. Incorporating games into her lesson plans continues to have incredible impacts on student learning: “I have seen students become more excited to learn science or ask more questions! I have noticed that my students enjoy learning as they play games!”
Keep rocking it, Incredible Nature Girl!
Bill Justice
AKA ""Science Sensei""
Although Bill just started using Legends of Learning at the end of the 18-19 school year, he is already one of our extraordinary power users! The Science Sensei uses Legends primarily as a “review of topics already taught”.
When students work on Legends in Bill’s classroom, he gives prizes to the students with the three highest scores on the assignment. One day, a prize was awarded to a student who struggled with their self-esteem: “When he was one of the top 3 and got a prize, you could see the pride on his face. More importantly, he could not wait for the next chance to be in the top 3 and always asks when we are going to be doing LL again”.
Thank you, Bill, for continuing to inspire students in your classroom!
