The scientific method is a process that scientists follow in order to learn about the world around us. The scientific method allows other scientists to repeat an experiment and confirm the results.

The first step in the scientific method is asking a testable question about something in nature. The second step in the scientific method is making a hypothesis. The third step in the scientific method is planning and carrying out an investigation to test a prediction. The fourth step in the scientific method is analyzing data from the experiment. The last step in the scientific method is to draw a conclusion.
